Switch to Troppus
Move from Gmail or a help desk and keep your address
Forward your support address into Troppus, and new customer email lands in a shared ticket queue. Your customers keep emailing the same place.
What moves
What changes, and what doesn't
- Your support address
- Stays the same. You forward it to Troppus, so customers keep emailing the address they already use.
- New customer email
- Comes to Troppus. Once forwarding is on, new messages become tickets your whole team can see.
- Customers
- Added automatically. A customer profile is created when someone emails you. You can also add people by hand.
- Old tickets and email
- Stay where they are. Troppus doesn't import history. Keep your old inbox or help desk as an archive you can look things up in.
- Canned replies, workflows, and statuses
- Set up again. There's no import for these, so add the ones you actually use. It's a good time to drop the rest.
How to switch
Five steps
Step 1
Create your workspace
Sign up without a sales call, and start with a 7-day Starter trial or a paid plan.
Step 2
Set up the basics
Invite your team, then add your signature and the canned replies you use most.
Step 3
Verify your domain
Go to Admin → Domains, add your domain, and publish the records shown there. Replies can then go out as your support address.
Step 4
Forward your support address
Copy the receive address from Admin → Domains, and forward your support inbox to it from your current mail host. If your host asks you to confirm the address, its confirmation email should arrive in Troppus as a ticket.
Step 5
Send a test, then move over
Email your support address and reply from Troppus. When that works, have your team work from Troppus and keep the old tool for lookups.

Where you're coming from
What to do differently
From Gmail
- Set up forwarding on the address or group your customers email.
- Keep a copy in Gmail if you want your archive to stay complete.
- Labels don't carry over. Use tags and saved views instead.
From a help desk
- Point your support address at Troppus instead of the old tool.
- Before you cancel, check what your old tool lets you export.
- Rebuild macros as canned replies, and routing rules as workflows.

FAQ
Will customers notice the switch?
Not if you keep the same address and verify your domain. They keep emailing the same place, and replies come from your support address.
Can I import my old tickets?
No. Troppus starts with the email you receive after you connect it. Keep the old tool or inbox around as an archive.
What if a customer replies to an old conversation?
Their reply goes to your support address like any other email, so it reaches Troppus through forwarding. It starts a new ticket, because the earlier conversation isn't in Troppus.
Can I try it before moving my address?
Yes. Every workspace has its own receive address, so you can send test emails to it before you change anything in your mail host.
